Fees & Concessions
Vocational Courses.
Courses which lead to an examination sometimes called Schedule 2 Courses. Charges for 2005/2006 are based on £1.00 per course hour.
Examples
One term of 10 weeks x 2 hour course would be 20 hour or £20.00 for the term.
The fee does not include examination board charges to enter exams.
Further information is available from all centres.
No Fees will be charged if you are:-
Recieving job seekers allowance.
Receiving a means tested benefit:
Income support.
Working Tax Credit.
Housing Benefit.
Council Tax Benefit.
Means Tested Disability Benefit.
An unwaged dependant of someone covered by the list above.
Aged between 16 and 19.
Over 60's.
Non Vocational and Recreational Courses
Adult Education Centres follow broadly the guidelines of £1.50 per hour for these courses. You will py half the normal fee if you are in one of the categories listed above.
Aged 60+
If you are aged 60 or over, and you are not entitled to a concession on any of the ground above, You will pay half the normal fee for any course, vocational and/or recreational.
Under 16's
Due to the nature of our funding, our courses are primarily targeted at learners aged 16 plus, and are not generaly available to learners who are under 16 years of age on 31st August 2005. An exception to this would be Family Learning Courses.
Exceptions will be considered for Year 11 pupils, dependent on the availability of places on the course, and the learner having a letter from their school stating the schools supports the learner undertaking this additional learning. In such a case the learner will pay half the normal fee.
